Rejoicing, thanking, petitioning

I hope this passage blesses you as much as it blesses me!  It is so timely for us, and I believe for everyone, for who doesn't have trials and heartaches?

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:4-7)

Thanks for this reminder, achi! Right, we all need this reassurance that we should just rest in God's love and His supreme wisdom.

Thank you, Chevy, this is always a comfort to think about. I have been dealing with medical issues myself, and going through tests. Last week, as I was going through something that was difficult for me, I kept focusing on John 14:27: Jesus said, "My peace I leave you; my peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid." I just kept thinking, Jesus is with me, and so I will not be troubled by this, I will not be afraid. I have also been reading the Book of Mark recently, focusing on Jesus' words and trying to meditate more on him and his words, and that he came to teach us about serving others and loving others. It is a powerful message.

God Bless you, Chevy, I do remember you still in my prayers, as does my husband. And I pray for your dear sister, Cheryl, who I have come to know during Community Bible Study last year. Also, I have loved the pictures of your whole wonderful family and in spite of everything, I believe you are blessed greatly with so many who love you and support you in your challenge to battle cancer.

Love in Christ, your sister in Christ, Jeanne Fraase, Centreville, VA
